Ribbon Cuttings

Celebrate Your Business with a Ribbon Cutting or Anniversary Celebration
The chamber is here to help celebrate your milestones whether that is a new opening of your business or the anniversary of your longevity. Here are some guidelines to help make your event a success!
Helpful Tips for Planning a Successful Event
We suggest chamber Ribbon Cuttings be held Tuesday-Thursday, 11am-1pm or 4pm-6pm, with the ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled at Noon or 5:30pm to ensure member participation.
♦ Choose a date that avoids conflict with other community events and holidays.
♦ Plan your event three to four weeks in advance.
Program: The Chamber will provide the Ribbon and “Big Scissors”, photographer and help promote your event online and through
social media and email.
♦ Create an event agenda. A brief program adds focus to the event and key people in your organization and community you would like to recognize.
♦ Consider including introduction of key people surrounding your milestone, brief speeches from community leaders, and tours of your facility if beneficial to your type of business.
Invitations: Who you invite is just as important as hosting the event. We will invite chamber members through an email blast from your flyer and list your event on the website calendar and social media.
People to invite:
• current, past and future customers
• family and friends
• suppliers
• employee & spouses/guests
• media (optional)
• neighboring businesses
• key community leaders
• local, regional, and state government officials
Additional Suggestions
♦ Have plenty of brochures, business cards and handouts available for your guests. If possible and within reason, provide promotional items such as pens, magnets, mugs, etc.
♦ Hold a drawing or giveaway. Winning a sample of your product or a gift certificate to a local restaurant can add to your guests’ experience with you and your business.
♦ Light refreshments are always appreciated.
