East Pasco is served by a robust public school system with multiple high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools across its communities. Additionally, numerous private schools offer alternative education options throughout the region.

Business owners across Zephyrhills, Dade City, San Antonio, and St. Leo continue to identify the lack of a trained and work-ready labor force as one of their most pressing challenges. A strong workforce is fundamentally tied to the quality and accessibility of local educational resources—and while East Pasco has valuable assets, strategic alignment between education and workforce readiness remains a top priority.

Zephyrhills is home to five public K-12 schools and five private institutions, ensuring a wide range of early education options. Nearby, Dade City and San Antonio also support several public and private schools, including charter and faith-based options, providing a diverse foundation for youth development.

Higher education access is also strong: Pasco-Hernando State College has campuses within a 20-minute radius, offering two- and four-year degrees, vocational certifications, and adult education. The University of South Florida (Tampa) and Saint Leo University (in St. Leo) are within a 30-minute drive, connecting local students to advanced degrees, business programs, and workforce development partnerships.

However, the gap persists between what employers need and what graduates are prepared to deliver. Strengthening collaboration between business and education partners—through internships, trade programs, dual-enrollment, and employer advisory boards—will be critical in preparing the next generation of East Pasco’s workforce.
